On Tuesday, Election Day, we had Progressive Newton had its strongest day collecting signatures for RaiseUp MA.
Now we have to keep up the momentum during the last 2 weeks. There are still many voters in Newton who haven’t had the opportunity to sign the petitions.
Please join us on Saturday morning at the Newton Free Library, from 10 am – 12 pm. or in the afternoon by the Star Market in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center from 2 pm – 4 pm.
On Sunday we will be in Newtonville outside of the Shaw’s supermarket on Austin St. Meet us there at 2pm.

This week the RaiseUp MA campaign announced that we have collected over 150,000 signatures on our petitions!!!! That is awesome, but we have to hang in there and keep going.
This Saturday, October 26 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, we will be in Newton Highlands. This should be a lot of fun. We really haven’t hit the Highlands yet and we’re hoping lots of folks will be out on Lincoln St. Meet us by Bread and Chocolate on the corner of Lincoln St and Hartford.
On Sunday, October 27 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, we will go back to Auburndale. We will meet by the Shaw’s Supermarket at 2040 Commonwealth Ave.

We had a wonderful weekend of signature gathering in gorgeous fall weather. We went to Auburndale for the first time Saturday morning and on Sunday to the Newton Harvest Fair, where we got signatures from over 39 towns and cities in MA!! By the end of the weekend 680 voters had signed to RaiseUp MA!!!
The RaiseUp campaign has until November 20th to collect signatures to put the minimum wage and earned sick-time leave initiatives on the ballot. And we need your help!!!
This week we are at the Farmer’s Market at Cold Spring Park today, and then we will hit the busy early morning rush on Thursday from 7:00 – 8:30 am at the Watertown Bus Terminal at for the #59 and #71 buses. You can meet us there.

We have only one more month to get petition signatures for the RaiseUpMA campaign. And we could use your help. We will be at the fair in Newton Centre all day on Sunday (from 10am – 5pm) and would love to have people join us, find out more about the fight to increase the minimum wage and to give workers and their families paid sick leave time, and help us to collect signatures.

On Tuesday, October 15, the 5th Congressional District is holding a special primary to nominate a replacement for the seat held by now Senator Ed Markey.
This will be a perfect day to talk with voters and to collect petition signatures for the RaiseUp MA campaign.
Progressive Newton will be by the polls at the Hellenic Cultural Center at 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, MA 02472

This Saturday October 12 from 10 am – 12:30 pm, we will be gathering at the intersection of Centre and Beacon Streets near the Bank of America.
On Sunday October 13 from 11 am – 1:30 pm, we will meet outside of Starbucks in Newtonville and collect signatures there, as well as outside of Shaw’s Supermarket.
